EAST KNOX LIONS CLUB

The Lions motto is: “We Serve” and the East Knox Lions Club has been quite busy this year doing just that! The club begins its 74th year of service in October 2025. 

In addition to the traditional sight and hearing projects the Lions are known worldwide, 

the local club has participated in the following projects:

  • Blankets for Foster Children 
  • Scholarship Opportunities for graduating East Knox High School Seniors
  • East Knox Athletic Boosters – Sports Program Ad, Sponsoring Football & Gymnasium Signs with the East Knox Athletic Department
  • Collection sites for used eyeglasses, hearing aids and cell phones at Dirkos, the Post Office & the AVPOA office
  • Food for Hungry 
    • Birthday cake kits were made and donated to Danville Interchurch
    • Repackaged cat & dog food for Danville Interchurch to share, along with food & monetary donations throughout the year.
  • Knox Co Jr Fair Livestock Sale & 4H Trophy Sponsor 
  • Pediatric Cancer Supporter, Diabetes Awareness, Environmental Tree Planting, Blood Mobile, Samaritan’s Purse Shoeboxes, Camp Echoing Hills, Assist with Food Pantry distributions, Recycling Plastic bags for benches, Aluminum Tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, Plastic Caps for various groups to repurpose, Pilot Dogs, and EK Elementary school vision screenings

The Lions Club fundraising Projects are: (10) weeks of Fall Turkey Shoots on Sundays starting Sept 28 & end on Nov 30 at Campbell’s Farm & Sportsman Club on SR 36 and (2) Gun Shows. Club's Purpose:  Clubs within Apple Valley may be organized by Property Owners for the interests and enjoyment of those Property Owners who wish to become members or participants.  Clubs who wish to be covered under AVPOA liability insurance, thus becoming an AVPOA sanctioned club, MUST comply with the club rules.  Any club formed within Apple Valley which does not conform to the state rules, WILL NOT become sanctioned and thus not covered by AVPOA insurance protection.
